1st Classical Music Hack Day – February 1st - 3rd, 2013

The Eliette and Herbert von Karajan Institute and the mdw-University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna present the first Hack Day for Classical Music.

Perfect interaction of technology, creativity, and music

From February 1-3, 2013 the first Classical Music Hack Day will take place at the mdw-University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Developers, musicians and creative minds will gather to develop new applications for digital classical music reception. Live performances of our young musicians will allow developers to produce new content and data – a long weekend full of innovative possibilities in the field of music technology.


Friday, Febrary 1st
5:00 pm Registration
7:00 pm "Studio concert" @ Joseph Haydn-Saal (recorded)
followed by a welcome buffet for musicians and participants
11:00 pm Doors locked
Saturday, Febrary 2nd
9:00 am Doors open
10:00 am pitches and project ideas @ Joseph Haydn-Saal
2:00 pm workshops start @ Joseph Haydn-Saal & Clara Wieck-Schumann-Saal
8:00 pm party @ Fanny Hensel-Mendelssohn-Saal:
Arnoldo Moreno & IPOP Acoustic Latin Ensemble & Salsa Club Corcovado
11:00 pm Doors locked (no entry after 11pm, but you can stay as long as you like)
Late night Spend the night in the venue (optional)
